JPGS will be located at JP Green House, a solar-powered urban homestead in Jamaica Plain, 3/4 mile from the Forest Hills T Station. The house has a large garden that is ideal for permaculture and gardening projects.

One ground floor room, with a bathroom, will be repurposed as a classroom and work space. A second classroom will eventually be built in the garden, using green building techniques and recycled materials. It will be solar powered and self-heating. A tool shed and outdoor work space will be part of the “outdoor classroom.”

There will be a fleet of bikes on hand for the students to use for local field trips, and all students will be encouraged to bike to the center if they can.

There is a nearby soccer field for recreational time, and a basketball hoop in the yard. The Arnold Arboretum and Franklin Park are both less  than a mile away.
